Job Summary

Ferguson Transport & Shipping as Port Managers for Kishorn Port and Dry Dock, are currently recruiting for a Chef / Cook to provide temporary cover. The shift pattern for this role is typically 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off, although all availability will be considered for this cover.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook a diverse range of dishes according to recipes and quality standards Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards Assist in menu planning and develop new culinary ideas to enhance the dining experience Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management to ensure ingredients are fresh and available Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service times Serve dishes efficiently while maintaining high standards of presentation and customer satisfaction Adhere to health and safety policies at all times, including proper handling of food and equipment

Requirements

Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment Experience with meal preparation for large groups or restaurant service is preferred Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team Relevant food hygiene certification
