Job Overview

We are looking for a part-time Chef de Partie to join our small kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and cooking, with experience in meal preparation and kitchen operations. As a CDP, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation, while maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Please note, the shift pattern is mostly: Thursday, Friday & Saturday PM, plus occasional Sunday AM/PM shifts.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards. Assist in the preparation of ingredients, ensuring freshness and quality. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including workstations and equipment. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment and prevent foodborne illnesses. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during busy periods. Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages. Participate in training new kitchen staff as needed. Uphold the restaurant's standards for quality, taste, and presentation in all dishes prepared.

Requirements

Previous experience as a cook or in a similar role within a restaurant environment is preferred. Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is essential. Strong culinary skills with the ability to prepare various types of cuisine. Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen setting. Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in meal preparation. A team player who can communicate effectively with colleagues in the kitchen. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
