We are currently recruiting for a Chef De Partie at Chalk in Wokingham.
Located on 31 Broad Street, Chalk bustling dining room and friendly bar have been serving neighbourhood regulars since 2020. Chalk restaurant is as comfortable in the feeling of a purposeful daytime business meeting, catch up over a coffee with a friend or for an evening date, we call it an 'everyday affair'.
Our warm space and service is beyond attending to guests needs. Our team is absolutely focused on ensuring guests comfort and satisfaction while creating new stories and memories daily (as the neighbourhood and life evolve through the restaurant).
Chalk food menus showcase the best of the season from British farmers, fishermen, and producers with the warmth and generosity of traditional comfort food. Whether you're craving Full English Breakfast and a Bloody Mary, a Burger and a beer, a Roast Lamb Rump and a glass of red Bordeaux or Whole Lemon Sole with a refreshing Sauvignon Blanc, Chalk is famously open from breakfast till late, six day a week and until 4pm on Sundays for Roast.
Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Chef De Partie to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. As a CDP, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our dishes are prepared to the highest standards, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner, maintaining high quality and presentation.
Assist in the organisation and cleanliness of the kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation during service periods.
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and communicate needs to the kitchen manager.
Maintain a safe and hygienic work environment by following all health and safety guidelines.
Participate in meal preparation for special events or catering as required.
Requirements
Proven experience in food preparation or as a cook within a restaurant setting.
Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent culinary skills with attention to detail in meal presentation.
Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
