We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our dishes are prepared efficiently and to the highest quality, contributing to an exceptional dining experience for our guests at The Oak Inn.
Duties
Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Assist in meal preparation, including chopping, slicing, and marinating ingredients as required.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely service and smooth operation during peak hours.
Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management as needed.
Follow proper portion control guidelines to minimise waste while maintaining quality.
Participate in training new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety practices.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a kitchen environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
Strong culinary skills with knowledge of various cooking techniques and meal preparation methods.
Familiarity with food safety standards and practices is essential.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues.
A passion for food and creativity in presenting dishes is highly desirable.
