We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background with working in care homes. This role involves overseeing food preparation and ensuring adherence to food safety standards. The Chef will play a vital part in maintaining the high standards of our establishment, fostering a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food production and service
Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to established recipes and quality standards
Oversee food safety procedures and maintain compliance with health regulations
Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs effectively
Develop innovative menus in collaboration with management to enhance customer satisfaction
Train new team members in food preparation, cooking techniques, and safety protocols
Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of dishes
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
Provide excellent customer service by assisting with serving when necessary and addressing guest feedback
Qualifications
IDDSI Trained
DBS Enhanced (Update Service)
Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, within a Care Home setting
Supervising experience with demonstrated leadership capabilities
Strong knowledge of food production, preparation, and presentation techniques
Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations
Proficiency in cooking across various cuisines and styles
