Job Description

St Michael\'s Hospice seeks an inspirational, empathetic, innovative and strategic new CEO to lead our highly-regarded organisation from its strong position through the challenging and changing operating environment that is health and social care in the 2020s.

Based Hereford, St Michael\'s Hospice admitted our first patient on 31st October 1984. Ever since then, we have worked to provide innovative palliative care of the highest quality to our community, and we are proud that next year will mark our 40th year of service.

Our mission is to make sure palliative, and end of life care is available to all who can benefit from it, regardless of gender, diagnosis, social group or setting. This includes supporting those people close to the dying person throughout the pre- and post-bereavement stages too. Our vision is that everyone in Herefordshire and the surrounding areas who needs and wants palliative care has timely access to it, delivered in a way that suits them.

From our custom-built Inpatient Unit and day services centre surrounded by our recently opened beautiful gardens, and from people\'s own homes, we deliver innovative palliative care services of the highest quality, supported by our committed team of staff, volunteers and our wider community. We are in a strong financial position, with NHS funding for our work significantly boosted by our fundraising and retail teams. Our new CEO will ensure we continue to grow, thrive, reach more people and deliver for our community.
