Job Summary

We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic RYA Senior Instructor to lead the training team Cardiff Bay Yacht Club.. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons, fostering a positive learning environment that supports students. This role requires an adaptable approach with successful candidates working a flexible 40 contracted hours per week. A significant amount of weekend and evening working will be required.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to various learning styles. Deliver high-quality instruction in a clear and engaging manner. Assess student progress through regular evaluations and provide constructive feedback. Create a supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and collaboration. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behaviour. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies and share best practices. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and methodologies.

Requirements

Operations Delivery of RYA power and dinghy and keelboat sailing courses. Scheduling of RYA courses Practical and shore based Maintaining of dinghy and keelboat training fleet Maintaining standards of tuition. Planning and completion of RYA training centre inspections. Promotion and execution of an effective Schools program Development of new commercial relationship as a preferred training provider Ensure that highest level of customer service is always delivered Complete all operational checks outlined in our Health & Safety Policy Instructor recruitment, development mentoring and training.
Experience & Qualifications:

Essential

RYA Senior Instructor (Dinghy and keelboat)

RYA Powerboat instructor

5 or more years' experience working in a busy sailing school.

Desirable

RYA Race coach level 2

RYA Advanced dinghy instructor

RYA Shore based Instructor

First Aid

SRC

Essential Navigation

RYA Dinghy and or Powerboat Trainer
