We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate

Young
Person
Counsellor/Psychotherapist
to join our team. As a Counsellor at our Glasgow-based organisation, you will play a pivotal role in supporting individuals through their mental health journeys. Your primary responsibility will be to provide compassionate, client-centred counselling services, ensuring that each client feels heard, respected, and understood. In your counselling sessions, you will create a safe and confidential space where clients can openly explore their thoughts and feelings. You will utilise a variety of evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centred therapy, and psychodynamic approaches, to facilitate personal growth and coping strategies.
Duties:
Conduct initial assessments to determine clients' needs and goals.
Develop and implement tailored therapeutic plans to address the specific needs of each client.
Utilise evidence-based practices and interventions to guide clients toward achieving their goals.
Maintain detailed and confidential records of sessions and progress.
Provide a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment for all clients.
Collaborate with other mental health professionals when necessary to ensure comprehensive care.
Adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards set forth by accrediting bodies such as BACP, COSCA, BPS, BABCP or other relevant organisations.
Preferred experience and qualifications:
Diploma, Masters or Doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
Accreditation - COSCA, BPS, BACP or related accrediting body.
Certification or additional training in specialised areas of couples therapy (e.g., Emotionally Focused Therapy, The Gottman Method).
Experience in a counselling or mental health setting is highly desirable.
Skills:
Strong understanding of dynamics, communication strategies, and conflict resolution techniques.
