At PsychWorks Associates, we work with children and young people who are navigating complex emotional, cognitive, and developmental challenges often in the aftermath of injury, trauma, or major life disruption.
As an
Associate Child Psychologist
, you'll bring compassion, creativity, and clinical insight to help young clients and their families rebuild, recover, and thrive.
You'll collaborate closely with case managers, schools, families, and legal teams to deliver holistic, formulation-led support that makes a meaningful impact in both everyday life and long-term recovery.
Key Responsibilities May Include:
Carrying out comprehensive psychological assessments and developing clear, child-centred formulations
Offering direct therapeutic input to support emotional regulation, identity development, and school readiness
Shaping and influencing EHCPs through collaborative work with schools, SENCOs, and Local Authorities
Consulting with parents, carers, and education staff to build capacity and consistency across systems
Supporting educational transitions--including reintegration, specialist placements, and post-16 planning
Producing accessible, evidence-based reports for case managers, legal professionals, and educational teams
Embedding psychological thinking into wider rehabilitation planning alongside Case Managers
Holding the young person at the centre while understanding and supporting the broader system around them

Requirements:
HCPC registration
as an Child Psychologist
Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience
(statutory or private sector)
Strong understanding of trauma-informed, neuro affirming and inclusive practice
Excellent assessment, consultation and report-writing skills
Availability of
working with a minimum of 3 clients
Willingness to travel for in-person visits (approx. 25%)
