About the Role

We are seeking someone who is interested in doing a

Childcare Apprenticeship

to join a warm, nurturing home-based childcare setting supporting children aged

0-5 years

. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about early years and wants to

learn on the job

, gain hands-on experience, and work towards a recognised childcare qualification.

You will work closely with the

Lead Childminder

, supporting daily routines, engaging children in meaningful play, and helping to create a safe, stimulating environment where children feel secure and supported.

This role is ideal for someone at the

start of their childcare career

or looking to transition into early years through an apprenticeship pathway.

Key Responsibilities

Support daily routines including meals, naps, toileting, and transitions Engage children in age-appropriate play and learning activities (indoors and outdoors) Encourage positive behaviour, social skills, and emotional development Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised environment (toys, equipment, surfaces) Supervise both free play and structured activities Assist with basic observations and daily records (full training provided) Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and hygiene procedures at all times Support outdoor play, garden activities, and local outings where required Build warm, respectful relationships with children and parents Support continuity of care in line with agreed arrangements
Essential Requirements

A genuine interest in working with young children Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to follow guidance while also showing initiative Basic awareness of child safety and wellbeing
Willingness to complete:

Enhanced DBS check Paediatric First Aid training Childcare apprenticeship qualification
Desirable (Not Essential)

Previous experience in childcare, early years, or a school setting Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification (or partial study) Basic understanding of the EYFS Awareness of safeguarding procedures
