We are looking for a dedicated childcare practitioner to work
22.5 hours per week
, Monday-Friday,
12.30pm-5.00pm
. This is a maternity cover role for 7 months, starting 1st February 2026 to 1st September 2026 The role offers a competitive hourly rate of
15-18 per hour
.
Key Responsibilities:
Support children's play, learning, and development through age-appropriate activities.
Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play in all weather conditions.
Provide a safe and nurturing environment for all children.
Assist in delivering activities based on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
Observe children and contribute to monitoring their progress.
Ensure inclusivity by supporting the individual needs of all children.
Communicate daily with parents/carers about their child's well-being and progress.
Follow safeguarding procedures and share any concerns with the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).
Prepare and serve healthy snacks and meals, accommodating dietary needs and allergies.
Keep play areas clean and safe by maintaining toys and equipment.
Essential Qualifications & Skills:
Paediatric First Aid Certificate (or willingness to train).
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply).
Understanding of child development.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Desirable:
Professional childcare experience.
Safeguarding qualification.
Basic ICT skills (e.g., using apps, cameras, tablets).
Personal Attributes:
Caring, enthusiastic, and nurturing.
Energetic and fun, with a strong sense of initiative.
