Job Overview

The Childcare Leader is a key role within our dynamic and high-quality Flying Start Childcare team!

We are on the lookout for a part-time Childcare Leader to join us.

We need this position filled to ensure we meet Flying Start guidance, Childcare Regulations, and the Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW) National Minimum Standards.

As a Childcare Leader, you will oversee the daily operations of a childcare setting and manage a team of dedicated childcare staff.

Key Responsibilities will include:

Team Management: Lead and inspire a team to deliver high quality childcare services. Engagement: Foster strong relationships with parents/carers and children. Monitoring: Track attendance and take-up rates to ensure optimal engagement. Compliance: Ensure all legislative requirements and standards for registered childcare provision are met. Inclusivity: Create a respectful and inclusive environment for all children. Support: Assist children with additional and emerging needs. Collaboration: Work seamlessly with multi-agency partners to deliver the programme.

For the role, we ask that you have:

Children's Care Play Learning and Development (CCPLD L5)/ working towards or similar relevant Level 5 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales*
Children's Care Play Learning and Development (CCPLD L3) or similar relevant Level 3 qualification on the Credit and Qualification Framework for Wales. Evidence of willingness to undertake further qualifications / continuing professional development training. Current Paediatric First Aid certificate Current Food Hygiene certificate. At least 2 years post-qualification experience of working with children aged under 4 years, in a childcare provision.
