Serenity Springs Ltd is seeking an experienced and committed Deputy Manager to support the effective leadership and management of our Ofsted-registered children's residential home in Corby.
The successful candidate will assist the Registered Manager in ensuring the highest standards of care, safety and regulatory compliance, contributing to the delivery of outstanding outcomes for children and young people aged 8-17 with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
This role requires a proactive and resilient professional who is passionate about improving the lives of children and young people, promoting their welfare and supporting their personal development within a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operational management of the home, ensuring compliance with Ofsted, the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, and the Quality Standards.
Lead, supervise and develop the staff team to deliver high-quality, child-centred care in line with company policies and statutory guidance.
Promote a culture of safeguarding and ensure that the welfare, protection and well-being of every young person remain central to all practice.
Contribute to recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisal and ongoing professional development of staff.
Support the planning and management of staff rotas to maintain appropriate staffing levels and continuity of care.
Promote educational achievement, emotional well-being and social inclusion for all young people in the home.
Work in partnership with families, social workers, education providers and other external professionals to ensure effective communication and holistic support.
Act as a role model for professional standards, conduct and therapeutic practice.
Deputise for the Registered Manager during periods of absence, demonstrating readiness and capability to assume full managerial responsibility when required.
Essential Requirements
Experience working within an Ofsted registered children's residential care setting.
Sound knowledge of EBD, autism, mild learning disabilities and behaviour management strategies.
Comprehensive understanding of safeguarding frameworks, regulatory compliance and risk management.
Proven ability to lead and motivate staff teams effectively.
Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and participate in the on-call rota as required.
Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent qualification).
Commitment to achieving or holding the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare.
