Are you an experienced leader passionate about changing young lives?
Do you want
more ownership & recognition?
Are you looking for a
new challenge
?
Belong to a company you can be part of,
not just work for?
Do you want to
wake up every day loving your job, not dreading it?
If you want a refreshing change... Then we'd love to talk to you.
We're Yaffle Care - a startup children's social care provider that likes to
do things differently
.
We are Ofsted rated... "Good in all areas" with our first home and we are just getting started.
We challenge the norm to make things better - for our children, our team, and the way we care.
This could be the perfect role for you if...
You're ready to lead a beautiful children's home that feels like exactly that - a home.
A place full of warmth, calm, creativity and care.
Where children aged 5-18 can heal, grow, explore, play, and feel safe- sometimes for the first time.
You'll be stepping into a home with a team that's already kind, committed, and full of heart.
You'll be supported by a strong senior leadership team who listen, and who give you the autonomy to
really lead
- with purpose, not paperwork.
What you'll be doing:
Leading a skilled, passionate care team to deliver trauma-informed support
Creating a nurturing and structured home where children feel truly safe and valued
Supporting personalised care plans that help young people build confidence and independence
Role-modelling compassionate leadership and holding firm professional boundaries
Working closely with local authorities, schools, and families to get the best outcomes
Embedding a strong safeguarding culture and encouraging reflective, values-led practice
What you'll bring:
At least
2+ years
working in a children's residential or similar setting
Leadership experience or clear potential to step into a management role
A strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
A calm, grounded, resilient approach (with a sense of humour never hurting either!)
Level 5 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it
Why join Yaffle Care?
Because we're not your average provider.
We are reimagining what children's social care
can look like.
We believe in therapeutic, trauma-informed homes where children don't just survive - they heal, grow, and thrive. We're a startup with soul, challenging the status quo and building a team that puts people before paperwork.
Now, we're looking for an inspiring Home Manager to help us shape something truly special within driving distance to Basingstoke.
At Yaffle Care, we believe in
getting it right
- not just ticking boxes.
We're a small, growing organisation with a big heart, and we take pride in doing the right thing, not the easy thing.
You'll get:
Real say in how your home runs
A voice at the table as we grow
Clear progression structure
A dedicated therapy team supporting your home
High-quality training and clinical support
Proper supervision and space to reflect
A leadership team who trustsyou and has your back
Important to know:
This is a
non-registered
management role (you'll support under a Registered Manager to start)
You'll need to complete an enhanced DBS and provide 5 years of references
You'll be part of the on-call rota and may support across nearby homes
This is a hands-on, emotionally rich role that requires resilience, passion and care
