The Registered Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of a 2-bed Ofsted-registered children's home under Vines Support Services Ltd. This role requires delivering the highest standards of care, safeguarding, leadership, and regulatory compliance, while creating a restorative, relationship-based environment for both children and staff.
You will ensure children are cared for in line with their individual needs and aspirations, lead and motivate the staff team, manage budgets, and maintain full compliance with all relevant legislation and Ofsted requirements.
The successful candidate will be on probation until Ofsted registration is achieved.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
Provide strong, compassionate leadership and clear direction to the staff team
Recruit, supervise and develop staff in line with organisational values

Ensure full compliance with
Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015

Quality Standards
Lead and prepare the home for Ofsted inspections and Regulation 44/45 visits
Respond appropriately to safeguarding concerns, complaints, or allegations
Stay updated on legislative and inspection framework changes
Quality Assurance
Conduct internal audits and service evaluations
Maintain accurate and up-to-date care plans, risk assessments, and incident records
Drive continuous improvement based on feedback and inspection outcomes
Financial Management
Manage the home's budget and ensure effective use of resources
Prepare forecasts and monitor expenditure
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency without compromising care quality
Operational Duties
Oversee staff rotas and ensure consistent cover
Manage referrals, admissions, and transitions sensitively and efficiently
Ensure effective communication and handovers across shifts
Participate in the on-call rota as required
Person Specification
Qualifications & Training (Essential / Desirable)
Level 3 or 4 in Residential Childcare (Essential)
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (Essential / or willingness to complete)
Valid Safeguarding Children, First Aid, Fire Safety, and Health & Safety training (Desirable or willingness to complete)
Management/Leadership training and evidence of continued CPD (Desirable)
Experience
Minimum 2 years' experience in a role relevant to residential childcare (Essential)
Minimum 1 year in a supervisory or management role in a children's home (Essential)
Experience supporting children with complex emotional and behavioural needs (Essential)
Experience leading Ofsted inspections (Desirable)
Budget and resource management experience (Essential)
Proven ability to work effectively with multi-agency professionals (Essential)
Knowledge & Understanding
Strong knowledge of
Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards 2015
Excellent understanding of safeguarding legislation and procedures
Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and child development
Familiarity with Regulation 44/45 and Ofsted inspection requirements
Awareness of GDPR and data protection responsibilities
