Your Responsibilities
As a
Bank Residential Childcare Practitioner
, you'll help ensure continuity and quality of care, even during times of change. Your calm, grounded presence will support young people as they navigate everyday routines and emotional challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
Building trusting, supportive relationships with young people
Providing personalised, trauma-informed care in line with each child's plan
Supporting therapeutic and recreational activities, including outdoor time
Assisting with daily routines--mealtimes, education, bedtime, and beyond
Responding to emotional or behavioural needs with empathy and composure
Keeping accurate, timely records in line with safeguarding and regulatory standards
Collaborating closely with the core team to maintain consistency in care

We're looking for:
Experience in residential childcare or a similar care setting
Confidence in supporting children with complex needs and emotional challenges
A sound understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed practice
A calm, empathetic approach and strong communication skills
A full UK driving licence
Availability to work 24.5-hour shifts (10:00am-11:00pm, sleep-in, then 7:00am-10:30am)
