Peachtree Support Services is a small, family-focused organisation opening a brand-new 3-bed EBD children's home, and we are looking for a compassionate, confident Children's Residential Deputy Manager to help us create a truly nurturing home for the young people we support.
As a close-knit, family-orientated team, we value genuine relationships, emotional warmth, and a commitment to giving children stable, secure care. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a new home from the very beginning, working alongside the Registered Manager to build a strong, supportive culture where children can grow, feel heard, and begin to heal.
If you are passionate about leading others, guiding practice, and creating a safe, caring environment for young people, we would be delighted to welcome you into our Oak Haven family.
Duties
As Children's Residential Deputy Manager, you will play a key role in the smooth, positive running of the home. Responsibilities include:
Supporting the Registered Manager with day-to-day leadership and oversight of the home
Providing reflective supervision, guidance, and support to staff, helping them grow in confidence and skill
Ensuring children's daily needs, routines, and emotional well-being are consistently met
Supporting the development and implementation of personalised care plans, behaviour support plans, and risk assessments
Leading by example in delivering high-quality, therapeutic, child-centred care
Contributing to fun, meaningful activities that help young people build self-esteem and positive relationships
Ensuring accurate, high-quality recording and reporting, in line with legislation and organisational policies
Working closely with families, social workers, education providers, and other professionals, always keeping children's best interests at the heart of decisions
Assisting with rota planning, team meetings, training, and ongoing staff development
Promoting a safe, nurturing environment and helping maintain consistent routines that support emotional stability
Taking charge of the home in the Registered Manager's absence, ensuring standards are upheld at all times
Skills & Personal Qualities
We are looking for someone with a strong blend of experience, leadership, and warmth:
Experience working in a children's residential setting (EBD experience is highly beneficial)
A Level 4 Children, Young People & Families Practitioner qualification (or willingness to work towards this) -- essential
Strong leadership abilities, with experience supervising or mentoring staff
A full driving licence, and confidence transporting children when required
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with children, families, and professionals
Solid understanding of care planning, safeguarding, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements
Good IT literacy for recording, reporting, and updating care systems
Kindness, patience, emotional resilience, and a genuine commitment to helping children heal and flourish
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise, manage responsibilities, and remain calm under pressure
Joining Peachtree Support Services
This is a meaningful opportunity to be part of a warm, supportive new home where every team member is valued and every child is given the chance to feel safe, respected, and encouraged. As Children's Residential Deputy Manager, you will help shape a positive, family-style culture that truly puts children first.
