Job Description

We're looking for caring, experienced and solution-focused Children's Residential Practitioners to join the dedicated team at Liberty House, Rotherham Council's overnight short break service for children and young people aged 5 to 18 with additional needs.

Liberty House provides safe, high-quality short breaks for children with a range of additional needs, including physical disabilities, complex health conditions and challenging circumstances. We also offer emergency accommodation to support families during crisis, providing stability when it's needed most.

As a Residential Practitioner, you'll work closely with professionals, families and your team to ensure every child enjoys meaningful experiences, feels safe and is supported to thrive.

Key Responsibilities



As a Residential Practitioner at Liberty House, you will:

? Promote, safeguard and protect the welfare of children and young people

? Build meaningful, trusting relationships with children and families through key working and consistent support

? Deliver high-quality, child-centred care using evidence-based behavioural and therapeutic practices

? Support young people to express their voice so they can influence the care and services they receive

? Work collaboratively with professionals and families using a systemic and strengths-based approach

? Engage in all aspects of daily life at Liberty House including personal care, activities, meal preparation, record-keeping and medication administration

? Maintain a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment that supports each child's wellbeing

? Attend training, supervision and staff meetings as part of your professional development

About You



We're looking for resilient, compassionate, and child-centred practitioners with a strong commitment to supporting children with disabilities and complex needs.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

? A Level 3 NVQ in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent, or a commitment to achieve this within 2 years of appointment (required to maintain employment)

? At least 1 year's experience working with children or young people in a care, education or support setting

? A strong understanding of safeguarding, children's rights and relevant legislation such as the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, the Children Act 1989 and good practice in disability support

? An ability to ensure children and young people feel heard, supported and positively

engaged in all aspects of their care.

? A calm, reflective approach to managing risk and behaviour, using trauma-informed and evidence-based practices

? A commitment to your own wellbeing, professional development while being a positive and supportive team member.

You must also be able to meet the practical demands of the role, including working on a flexible rota (early mornings, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins). A full UK driving licence is required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: 27,711.00-30,060.00 per year

Expected hours: 37 per week
