Project Indi is grassroots charity based in Stoke on Trent. We support vulnerable and disabled adults, children, and their families to reach their full potential.

We support our members to regularly access a range of diverse activities and workshops at our inclusive hub, The Indi Club. We are partnered and work with a variety of local businesses, activity providers and workshop leaders to deliver specialised activity programmes that aim to empower independence, champion inclusion, and promote physical and emotional wellbeing.

Role Overview



Working as part of our children's services team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering an entertaining and engaging programme of inclusive activities that supports children and young people to thrive. You will supervise a team of staff and oversee the day-to-day running of our children's services. Furthermore, you will work alongside our team to develop, grow and enhance our children's and family services.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:



Oversee the planning, delivery and growth of engaging activities, workshops, and events. Ensuring the provision of safe, healthy, and stimulating environments. To liaise with suppliers and providers to create our children's activity programme within an agreed budget and timescale. To manage the recruitment, assessment, and induction of new members. Engage and build positive, trusted relationships with our members and the wider community and support members to integrate and thrive. Supervise staff and implement human resource duties, including organising workflow and ensuring employees understand their delegated tasks. Support with the development, growth and delivery of our SEND family support groups in the community. Monitor employee productivity and provide constructive feedback and training. Resolve issues and act as a link between employees and management. Arrange and attend outreach visits in the community to promote the charity and recruit new members and volunteers. Manage and retrieve payments and record appropriately. To deliver private hire events, including the running of the bar and light cleaning duties. To resolve queries received by telephone, email, in writing in an efficient, professional, and courteous manner. To maintain booking systems, databases and CRM systems. Ensuring all new contacts are added and information is correct and up to date. To coordinate and record bookings for activities and special events and work to maximise bookings. Arrange and attend outreach visits in the community to promote the charity and recruit new members and volunteers. To provide social media content and assist the Projects, Communications and Events Manager with promotion of the charity and the services we provide.

About You



If you have experience of working with children and young people with special educational needs or disabilities in the community, then this could be the role for you! You will have great organisational skills and the ability to motivate and inspire our members to participate and thrive in social activities. You will need to work on your own initiative, be creative and have a 'can do' attitude to be successful in this role. You will have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Requirements



Passionate about empowering children and young people. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience of working with young people and an understanding of the current challenges they face. Ability to lead and work collaboratively as part of a team. Ability to communicate and engage with young people and their parents/guardians sensitively and confidently in both large groups and individual settings. Good knowledge of and a commitment to Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Equality Diversity and Inclusion in relations to working in the community and youth work environment. A full driving license and access to own car

Hours of work:

37.5 hours per week

Rate of Pay

:28,000 per annum

Holidays:

20 days annual leave, plus bank holidays and Christmas shutdown

Interviews:

will be held on an ongoing basis. Please note we may close the position early if a suitable candidate is found.
