Children's Support Worker (Residential Care)

Salary:

Up to 35,000 per year (D.O.E., includes sleep-ins)

Contract:

Permanent, Full-Time (160 hours/month)

Shift Pattern:

2 on, 4 off

We are seeking a

Children's Support Worker

to join a residential children's home in Bewdley. This is a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive support to young people aged 8-18 with

Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD)

and

challenging behaviours

. The ideal candidate will be

resilient, compassionate, and motivated

to create a safe and nurturing environment, helping young people develop essential social and life skills.

Key Responsibilities:



Provide direct support to young people with complex needs, including those with trauma-informed backgrounds. Implement care plans and risk assessments to ensure the safety and well-being of residents. Engage in and supervise a wide range of activities (e.g., sports, outings, hobbies). Safely and empathetically manage challenging behaviour, using de-escalation techniques. Encourage independence and personal development, helping young people take responsibility for their lives. Maintain a positive and homely residential environment. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, including social workers and other professionals, to provide holistic support. Maintain accurate records and reports in line with regulatory standards.

Requirements:



Essential:

A full UK driving license is mandatory for this role, as you will be required to transport young people.

Essential:

Must be 21 years of age or older.

Essential:

Ability to commute reliably to the Bewdley area.

Desirable:

Previous experience working as a

Children's Support Worker

or in a

residential care setting

is preferred but not essential.

Desirable:

Experience in

health or social care

, or with young people with EBD.
