Residential Support Worker - Children's Residential Care


Location:

Stoke-on-Trent (Cheadle)

Hourly Rate:

14.00 (unqualified) | 15.00 (qualified)

Sleep-in Payments:

50 per sleep-in

Salary Range:

32,000 - 34,500 per year (inclusive of sleep-ins)

You will work with young people who have

learning difficulties

and

emotional and behavioural needs

, providing care and support in a

nurturing, therapeutic environment

Key Responsibilities

Deliver

high-quality, person-centred care

in a residential setting. Provide

emotional, social, and practical support

tailored to individual needs. Create and implement

personalised care plans and structured routines

. Promote

independence, life skills, and positive behaviour

. Work closely with the team to

maintain a safe, homely environment

. Transport young people to

school, appointments, and activities

(driving required). Keep

accurate records

in line with safeguarding and regulatory policies.
Requirements

A genuine passion for

supporting children and young people

. Strong

communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills

. Resilient, empathetic, and proactive approach to care.

Full UK driving licence

and access to your own vehicle - Essential. Willingness to work towards an

NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare

(if not already qualified). Previous direct experience in residential childcare - Preferred but not essential.
