Support Workers - Children and Young People Service
We are looking for
dynamic, caring, and inspirational Support Workers
to join our well-established team, working in our Children and Young People Service.
Our service supports children and young people aged
0-18
with learning disabilities and associated needs. We focus on promoting
independence, choice, rights, and inclusion
by enhancing their personal, domestic, and social skills. We are committed to delivering the
highest standards of care
, in line with Children's Home Regulations and the Early Years Foundation Stage.
What you'll be doing:
Working as part of a dedicated team to achieve the best outcomes for every child.
Promoting inclusion, resilience, and creativity in everything you do.
Providing personal care and support in line with individual Care Plans.
Creating a safe, caring, and stimulating environment using
Positive Behaviour Support
and
Intensive Interaction
strategies.
Offering 1:1 or 2:1 support where required.
Planning and delivering activities tailored to each child's needs, interests, and developmental stage.
Supporting children and young people with
complex health needs
and
challenging behaviour
, and providing comfort when they are unwell.
Enabling children to develop life skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping, and accessing community activities (swimming, bowling, sports, arts & crafts, walks, and more).
Supporting young people in trying new experiences - even if it takes you out of your comfort zone.
Maintaining high-quality environments that respect cultural, religious, and personal preferences.
Following risk assessments and promoting a culture of positive risk-taking.
Ensuring excellent health and safety at all times.
Administering medication in line with training and procedures.
Keeping accurate, high-standard written records.
Escorting and transporting children where required (drivers welcome).
Assisting with domestic tasks such as preparing meals, cleaning, and completing daily checks.
Being flexible, reliable, patient, and committed to making a difference.
Hours & Locations:
A variety of shifts are available, including waking nights and shifts from
6 to 12.5 hours
.
Work is across multiple locations, 7 days a week.
