The Deputy Supported Living Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of a supported living facility, ensuring high-quality care and support for residents with developmental disabilities, mental health and other behavioural needs. This position requires a compassionate leader who can effectively manage staff, develop care plans, and foster a supportive environment for both residents and their families. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisting young people gain independent living skills,education and vocational skills as well as ensuring that the young people's needs are recognised and met.
Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the supported living facility, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in care.
To manage the home in compliance with OfSTED, legislation, and the ethos and policies of the company.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized care /support plans tailored to each resident's needs.
Supervise staff members, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality care delivery. In addition, to provide leadership, guidance and support to the staff team when on call.
Collaborate with as well as develop and maintain good working relationships with social workers, youth justice teams, colleges, healthcare professionals and other external Agencies to coordinate support required for the young persons.
Manage budgets and financial aspects of the facility while ensuring cost-effective operations.
Foster a positive environment that promotes resident engagement, independence, and dignity.
Maintain open communication with residents' families regarding care updates and any changes in health status.
Ensure that all staff are trained in best practices for children's services, Supported Living services, and other mandatory courses required for the service.
Conduct regular assessments of resident satisfaction and implement improvements based on feedback.
Experience
Proven experience of working in children's home and supported living services for young people.
Background working with young people with developmental disabilities, complex needs, mental health, autism e.t.c is highly desirable.
Familiarity with children's home and young people supported living services
Strong management skills with experience supervising staff in children's home and young people supported living services
Knowledge of operations management principles within long-term care environments.
Business acumen related to budgeting and resource allocation is important for effective facility management.
Experience in home & community care or group home settings is a plus.
