We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Clerk/Credit Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the credit control process, ensuring timely collection of outstanding debts, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and the ability to analyze financial data effectively. The Credit Controller will work closely with various departments to support the organization's financial health and compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
Manage accounts receivable and ensure timely collection of payments from clients.
Perform account reconciliation and maintain accurate records of transactions.
Prepare financial reports related to credit control activities, including aging reports and cash flow forecasts.
Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve payment disputes and improve cash management processes.
Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger accounting tasks as required.
Support budgeting processes by providing insights on accounts receivable trends and forecasts.
Requirements
Proven experience in credit control or a similar role within non-profit or governmental accounting sectors is advantageous.
Strong knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, cash management, payroll, budgeting, and technical accounting principles.
Proficiency in financial report writing and analysis with excellent attention to detail.
Familiarity with accounts payable processes and general ledger reconciliation is essential.
Experience using Xero is preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with internal teams and external clients effectively.
