About the Role

The Choral Director will be instrumental in delivering the

Schools Singing Programme

, which launched in 2022. You will:


Lead high-quality

in-class singing sessions

and school assemblies. Establish and direct

after-school choirs

across the diocese as progression routes for pupils. Encourage participation in the

liturgical life

of schools and parishes through music. Build and maintain

positive relationships with schools and parishes

, with a focus on Hertfordshire. Provide

local CPD for teachers

, helping to build their confidence in leading singing. Contribute to the development of a shared vision for liturgical music within the Diocese.



About You


-------------



You are a skilled and dynamic

choral director

with a passion for working with children and young people. You will bring:


Proven experience

of directing choirs and encouraging young singers. Strong

communication and organisational skills

, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities. A collaborative and adaptable approach, with the confidence to work both independently and as part of a wider team. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly across the diocese.

Ideally, you'll also have experience in liturgical music and classroom settings, and a good understanding of the Catholic Church and its mission.
