We have an exciting opportunity with a newly-created job role as a Claims Assistant, within the Complex Case department of a firm of barristers.
The Complex Case team specialise in reviewing, investigating and evidencing cases of high-value financial loss to private investors, where the loss has occurred due to a scam, or other fraudulent and criminal activity.
This position requires proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Google Suite. Experience of using a CRM system is preferential, as is experience or an understanding of the financial claims process. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral are a must, as is being able to empathise with clients and building a rapport.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated individual with a strong desire to learn and grow within the role. This is an opportunity to develop expertise and knowledge in the financial claims process, legal and regulatory requirements, and identifying fraudulent and criminal financial activity.
Part time hours for this position will be considered for the right applicant and the salary will be paid pro rata.
Duties
Managing incoming calls on behalf of the file handler and taking accurate messages where necessary.
Liaising by phone and email with clients and external bodies i.e. banks, FSCS and FOS.
Obtaining documents and detailed information from clients.
Performing data entry tasks accurately and efficiently, ensuring all information is correctly logged and up to date in our systems.
Following up on correspondence with investigating police forces, SFO and NCA.
Maintaining organised digital filing systems to ensure easy retrieval of information and documents.
Sending DSARs and chasing requested documentation from third parties.
Scanning and uploading all documents to the case management systems and ensure that it is allocated to the relevant file handler.
Providing general administrative assistance as required including photocopying, printing, scanning and postal duties.
Experience
Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within a legal or claims environment.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office, Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive) and other office software is essential.
A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy in all tasks undertaken.
Protecting sensitive data including personal details, financial data i.e. bank statements and adhering to data protection laws and regulations.
