Role Overview

As a

Class 1 (C+E) Driver

, you'll be responsible for transporting full loads using curtain-side and box trailers. Working day shifts, you'll ensure all deliveries and collections are completed safely and on schedule, representing PW Gates professionally at every stop. This role is ideal for drivers who take pride in accuracy, safety, and providing excellent service.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out full-load haulage work using curtain-side and box trailers.

Ensure all goods are loaded, secured, and transported safely in line with company and legal standards.

Perform daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.

Maintain accurate records using a digital tachograph and comply with drivers' hours legislation.

Communicate effectively with the transport team to ensure smooth day-time operations. Represent PW Gates professionally at all delivery and collection points.

Essential Criteria

Full HGV Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence.

Valid Driver CPC and digital tachograph card.

Maximum of 6 penalty points (no IN or DR codes).

Experience operating curtain-side or box trailers.

Professional, reliable, and safety-focused approach to work.

Strong understanding of drivers' hours and road safety regulations.

Desirable Criteria

It would be an advantage if candidates also have:

Previous night trunking or long-distance driving experience.

Familiarity with PDA's (Personal Digital Assistant Scanner's) and vehicle telematics systems.

Experience handling paperwork such as delivery notes, manifests and PODs.

A strong geographical knowledge of the UK road network.

Flexibility to adapt to changing routes, schedules, or operational needs.

A positive attitude and commitment to high customer service standards.
