We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Driver to join our a small, family-run transport company. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent vehicle standards. Duties

Operate

Curtain Sider and Container

lorries and other commercial vehicles to deliver goods to clients and distribution centres. Plan routes effectively to optimise delivery schedules and minimise delays. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations. Secure loads properly on flatbeds, ensuring safe transit of cargo. Maintain accurate delivery documentation and communicate with dispatch teams regarding delivery status. Adhere strictly to road safety laws, company policies, and health & safety regulations. Assist with loading and unloading goods when necessary, ensuring proper handling procedures are followed. Report any vehicle issues or accidents promptly to management for swift resolution.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a commercial driver. Valid driving licence suitable for operating heavy goods vehicles (HGV). Delivery driver experience is highly desirable, demonstrating familiarity with logistics operations. Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record. Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving. Ability to organise routes efficiently and work independently under minimal supervision. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and compliance. This role is ideal for experienced drivers committed to safety, punctuality, and delivering excellent service within the logistics sector.

Requirements:

Valid Class 1 HGV License. CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card. Experience with Curtain Sider and Container work preferred. Good knowledge of UK road regulations. Reliable, professional, and friendly attitude. Minimum 6 months experience.

Pay: From 15.50 per hour

Expected hours: 50 - 60 per week
