Job Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable HGV Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting collected waste via tankers from various customer sites and delivering to a number of waste disposal sites, ensuring timely collections and maintaining high standards of vehicle safety and maintenance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and tanker operations to contribute to our company's operational success.
Responsibilities
Operate our HGVs, tankers and bulker trailers in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies.
Plan and follow efficient collection / delivery routes to ensure timely dispatches and arrivals.
Load, secure, and unload cargo safely, ensuring the integrity of waste during transit.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with legal requirements.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding schedules or any unforeseen delays.
Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols during transportation and loading activities.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a commercial driver.
Valid driving licence suitable for operating Class 1 vehicles and other relevant vehicles.
Demonstrable knowledge of tanker operations and safe cargo securing techniques.
Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
Ability to navigate using GPS or traditional maps efficiently.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage time effectively on tight schedules.
Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal. This role is ideal for dedicated drivers seeking a stable position within a professional logistics environment, where safety, punctuality, and customer service are paramount.
