Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and skilled class 1 Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety and professionalism in all driving activities.

Duties

Operate lorries, including flatbed vehicles, to transport goods to designated locations. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Navigate routes efficiently while complying with all traffic laws and regulations. Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper securing of items for safe transport. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery notes and logs. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport. Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any customer inquiries or concerns professionally.

Skills

Proven experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving roles. Familiarity with flatbed lorry operations is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws. Excellent navigational skills with the ability to read maps and use GPS systems effectively. Good physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads when necessary. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with customers and team members. A valid HGV licence is required, along with a clean driving record.
