Role outline:
The Class 2 Driver/ Loader will take responsibility for loading, transporting and unloading goods in a safe and timely manner. This role requires a strong commitment to customer satisfaction, attention to detail, and the ability to handle physical tasks.
Working hours:
Monday to Friday, 06:00am - 14:00pm (37.5 hours per week).
The hourly rate of 16.33 includes the daily shift premium of 2.50 which is paid after completion of 7.5 hours work on this shift. This hourly rate also includes a discretionary bonus.
Key Responsibilities:
Loading and unloading (60% of role):
Assist the Logistics team with loading and unloading goods.
Ensure that all items are securely packed and protected during transit.
Verify the accuracy of orders being loaded and unloaded.
Driving and delivery (40% of role):
Move vehicles around site.
Maintain a tidy lorry park.
Undertake delivery runs (in the event of sickness and/ or emergency).
Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving, including complying with current EU and Working Time Directive (WTD) legislation.
Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle, including checking fluid levels.
Swap demount boxes to correct chassis ready for the next shift and/ or driver.
Ensure that a professional image is portrayed at all times.
Liaise with customers on estimated arrival times.
Undertake daily vehicle checks using the AssetGo app.
Person Specification:
Valid UK Driving licence (with no more than three points) (essential).
Class 2 HGV licence (essential).
Previous experience of driving a HGV vehicle (desirable)
Previous experience of undertaking delivery drops (desirable).
Valid Tacograph card.
Valid Driver CPC (present and up to date).
Excellent attention to detail.
