The Cleaning Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating depot and fleet cleaning, ensuring the business meets the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene and safety. This position involves managing cleaning colleagues and leading driving forwards best-in-class cleaning standards.
Key duties and responsibilities:
Supervise and lead a team of bus cleaning staff, including recruitment, training, scheduling and performance monitoring
Conduct regular meetings with colleagues to communicate goals, cleaning protocols and best practices
Maintain cleaning schedules for the fleet and depot, ensuring timely and efficient cleaning operations
Ensure all buses are cleaned to meet company cleanliness standards, including interior sanitation, exterior washing and detail work
Assist in developing and managing the bus cleaning budget, including forecasting needs for labour, materials and equipment
Act as the primary point of contact for cleaning-related inquiries and issues within the bus operations team
Promote a culture of safety and excellence among cleaning colleagues
Prepare and submit weekly and monthly reports on the status of vehicle and depot cleanliness, staff performance, and adherence to cleaning standards
You will need:
At least 2 years' experience in cleaning or management
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent organisational and time management abilities
Effective communication and customer service skills
The ability to work autonomously
Knowledge of vehicle cleaning methods, products, and equipment
Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to vehicle maintenance
