Position Summary:
This role will lead the business development endeavours across our two main practices outside the US market: International Partnerships and Roundtables, as well as provide senior level support to these practice areas and their delivery to ensure excellence in client outcomes
Our International Partnerships practice helps companies create payment and lending industry alliances that deliver long-lasting value. Auriemma Group pioneered the partnerships space more than four decades ago and since then we have facilitated hundreds of alliances, advising and representing all sides of transactions in the process. We work across the partnership lifecycle, helping our clients to plan, structure, select, negotiate, manage, and improve successful partnership programmes. In recent years we have delivered to our clients in the UK, Europe, and Middle East.
Whilst our UK Industry Roundtables practice provides leading financial services companies with access to the right people and data to help them optimize business practices, maximize efficiency, and navigate complexity. Our members get solutions, measurable ROI, and a roadmap for the future. Our Roundtable meetings are exceptionally well attended, with representatives from companies providing services to around 90% of the Financial Services Consumer Lending market in UK.
Principal Responsibilities:
The Client Growth Director role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cards and payments professional to:
Support the existing International Partnerships practice to identify, win, and support delivery of interesting, varied, and challenging engagements for top-tier clients.
Support the Roundtables practice in maintaining engagement with the existing members, growing the membership within Auriemma's current groups through new contacts, and delivering new group launches.
Develop the network, relationships, and profile of Auriemma Group, keeping our finger on the pulse of the cards and payments market to ensure we continue to collect the critical market intelligence that leads to new business opportunities.
The role includes:
End to end ownership of client relationships, and ownership of practice revenue goals (shared).
Stakeholder Management for consulting assignments for clients and for Roundtable relationships.
Driving the business development efforts across both practices through developing and maintaining a network of key prospects and existing clients.
Leading meetings with and presentations to clients and external industry players to develop new business, build relationships, provide exposure for Auriemma Group, and keep up with industry trends.
Lead efforts to continue to grow European and International opportunities.
Lead, create and implement strategy to meet evolving requirements and industry needs.
Development of high quality, strategically focused deliverables that deliver on client needs, including senior support to client engagements and input towards their deliverables
Strategic thought leadership presentations at events
Support and mentor the Auriemma International Partnerships and Roundtables teams
Liaise with Auriemma Group US Managing Directors to identify and develop global partnership opportunities
Skills and Experience:
You should apply if you have:
>10 years' experience in the credit card and/or payments industry.
Regarded by others in the industry as a subject matter expert in the payments industry, with substantial knowledge of credit cards or similar consumer lending products.
Experience in the Co-Brand/Affinity/Partnerships cards/BNPL/Loyalty markets.
A strong general understanding of the Cards and Payments industry as a whole.
A strong network of relationships around the Cards and Payments industy.
Experience in developing new business opportunities
Genuine desire to lead the Business Development activities for the Auriemma business in region.
Creativity and flexibility in developing and delivering solutions that add value to clients.
The ability to think strategically and deliver tactically.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in negotiating partnerships, contracts, and/or other relevant transactions.
Experience/knowledge of the retail sector preferred but not required.
A collaborative, team-oriented work style with a hands-on approach.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
The ability to multi-task and prioritize, delivering or managing several projects at a time.
Experience in working with senior-level clients and stakeholders.
A strong work ethic, energy, and enthusiasm.
A proven ability to get involved in the day-to-day delivery when required.
Other Requirements:
Work location will be a combination of working from home, face-to-face meetings at client sites, regular internal meetings at our co-working spaces in central London, and occasional international travel.
