Client Manager



We are seeking a dedicated qualified Rural Accountant to join our team based in Thornbury.

The firm holds a well-respected, long-standing reputation within its predominantly Rural Client based businesses for an efficient and personalised service.

This role would suit a qualified ACCA or ACA, who is looking for their next step.

Reporting to the directors of the company, you would have a range of responsibilities including statutory accounts, tax returns, oversight of VAT and Payroll to ensure they are prepared to highest level of technical accuracy.

The areas to take the lead is customisable based on individual strengths, experience and qualification type. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to forge client relationship as well as being technically sound and a willingness to provide the highest standards of service at all times.

The role will include overseeing and aiding the development of team members in earlier stages of their career.

You will also be expected to play a part in shaping the future of the firm with input into the adoption of new technologies generally and specifically Making Tax Digital in the first instance

Qualifications and experience



ACCA or ACA qualified

Ideally you should have had a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.

You will preferably be able to evidence solid experience in

Statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies

Corporation tax

Personal tax

Knowledge of Capital Gains Tax and Inheritance Tax would be advantageous

An ability to work alone and together with our friendly and engaging team.

Technical skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel)

Demonstrable ability to both prepare and review sets of accounts to the highest level of accuracy whilst showing a commercially aware approach at all times

Knowledge of Xero in particular but also Sage and Quickbooks is desirable
