Role Overview
The Clinic Lead / Manager is responsible for the day-to-day operational and clinical leadership of the therapy service. The role ensures the delivery of high-quality, safe, and person-centred care, while supporting the development of staff, therapeutic programmes, and service standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Leadership
Provide oversight, support, and supervision to the therapy team (including counsellors, psychotherapists, and psychologists).
Ensure therapeutic interventions are evidence-informed and aligned with the needs of the patient group.
Lead on the coordination and delivery of group and individual therapy programmes.
Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions, care planning, and risk reviews.
Promote a reflective, ethical, and professional culture across the therapy service.
Operational Management
Oversee daily operations within the therapy department, working closely with nursing, medical, and administrative teams.
Manage staff rotas, leave, appraisals, and training compliance.
Contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and staff development processes.
Maintain high standards of clinical documentation, confidentiality, and data accuracy.
Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external communication relating to therapy provision.
Quality & Governance
Support the service in maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality standards (e.g. CQC).
Respond to incidents, concerns, and safeguarding matters appropriately and in line with policy.
Monitor and evaluate therapy outcomes and service feedback to inform improvement.
Contribute to audits, policy reviews, and the development of clinical pathways.
Person Specification
Essential:
Recognised qualification in counselling, psychotherapy, or a related therapeutic discipline.
Significant experience delivering therapy in a mental health setting.
Proven experience providing supervision within a clinical or therapeutic service.
Sound knowledge of safeguarding, clinical risk, and professional boundaries.
Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
Experience in a private hospital or inpatient setting.
Familiarity with a range of therapeutic approaches and working with complex presentations.
Additional training in clinical supervision, leadership, or service development.
