Job Description

Responsible for the daily update of the Patients Administrative System. Provide an accurate account of admissions, discharges, transfers and deaths. Maintain accurate records of patient flow through the Unit. Assist the ward coordinating, supporting with the flow of patients, including dealing with telephone enquiries contacting patients families etc whilst maintaining confidentiality at all times.



Provide cover where needed for absent colleagues, under the supervision of the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse. Update knowledge of internal software programs such as PAS, Symphony and PPM+. Process referrals in a timely and sensitive manner, informing clinical staff as required. Undertake extended clinical skills such as venepuncture, cannulation, catheterisation and ECG recording.



Support the Trust's Infection Control and Prevention agenda at all times. Ability to provide essential patient care to patients when required to support both registered nurses and Healthcare Assistants clinically, in line with the band 6 AAU coordinator role.
