, you will hold overall responsibility for ensuring the safe, effective, and high-quality delivery of clinical and nursing services within the home. Working closely with the Home Manager and Deputy Manager, you will lead on clinical governance, regulatory compliance, and continuous quality improvement.
Your leadership will be vital in maintaining exceptional clinical standards, ensuring staff competency, and promoting a culture of safety, transparency, and person-centred care. You will also oversee infection control processes and act as a key liaison with external regulatory bodies.
Provide strong clinical leadership, setting and maintaining high standards of nursing practice.
Work collaboratively with the Home Manager and Deputy Manager to deliver safe and effective nursing services.
Recruit, select, induct, and train nursing staff.
Ensure regular supervision, performance reviews, and appraisals are completed for all nurses.
Manage safe staffing levels and effective rota planning.
Clinical Governance & Compliance
Oversee full compliance with all relevant clinical governance frameworks, regulatory requirements, and CQC standards.
Develop, review, and monitor person-centred care plans to promote resident safety, wellbeing, and outcomes.
Ensure infection prevention and control policies are implemented, audited, and documented.
Monitor clinical risks, incidents, and complaints, and implement appropriate actions for improvement.
Conduct regular audits and prepare reports for management meetings.
Lead on inspection readiness and liaise with external bodies, including CQC inspectors.
Quality, Training & Development
Lead the design and delivery of clinical training programmes for all nursing and care staff.
Ensure the workforce has the skills, knowledge, and competencies required to deliver outstanding care.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and openness across the clinical team.
Communication & Collaboration
Attend and contribute to management meetings, providing updates on clinical performance, staff development, and resident outcomes.
Work closely with internal teams, residents, families, and external professionals to maintain high-quality care standards.
Essential Requirements
Valid
UK NMC Pin
(RGN/RMN/RNLD).
Strong experience in clinical leadership and governance.
Excellent knowledge of CQC regulatory requirements.
Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a multidisciplinary team.
Strong communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
Commitment to person-centred care and continuous improvement.
