An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and passionate
Clinical Governance Lead (RMN)
to join the senior leadership team within a respected mental health provider in Birmingham. This is a strategic and hands-on role, ideal for someone committed to embedding excellence in care across inpatient and residential mental health services.
The successful candidate will work across multiple sites, leading nursing practice, driving quality standards, and supporting the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care to individuals with severe and enduring mental health diagnoses.
Service Settings:
Dartmouth House (Handsworth Wood):
16-bed male long-term complex care inpatient unit
Montague Court (Edgbaston):
18-bed male long-term complex care inpatient unit
Orchard House (Erdington):
8-bed residential step-down service
Stanford Court (Highgate - opening soon):
23-bed male inpatient service including 19 high dependency beds and 4 self-contained recovery flats
Key Responsibilities:
Provide strong clinical leadership across all sites, acting as a role model for excellence in care delivery.
Support the development and implementation of evidence-based interventions to meet mental and physical health needs.
Oversee clinical quality assurance and governance processes, producing clear reporting for senior management and stakeholders.
Foster therapeutic relationships that respect individual dignity, privacy, and recovery goals.
Ensure care meets the highest standards and aligns with both local and national best practices.
Step into the role of Registered Manager when necessary to ensure service continuity.

Requirements:
Current
NMC registration
(valid NMC pin required)
Significant leadership experience in a mental health setting
Demonstrated expertise in clinical governance, quality improvement, and coaching/supervision
Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams
Commitment to recovery-focused and person-centred care
