Maternity Triage at Pilgrim Hospital are seeking Clinical Health Care Support Workers to work within our team ensuring delivery of high standards of patient care
Successful candidates will have the opportunity to learn and develop extended skills , amongst further educational and professional development opportunities.
Main duties of the job
CHCSW duties focus on all aspects included in the job description and are patient focussed. Duties include supporting the registered work force with patient admissions , transfers and discharges . Recording & monitoring of patient observations, performing extended skills ( once training complete) . Ensuring patient needs are met such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility. Working closely with the registrant workforce on the unit to ensure the departments daily running , maintaining stock management and a clean environment.

Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).

Essential

• Literacy and numeracy qualifications equivalent to Functional Skills level 1 or above (e.g. GCSE grade C or above)
• NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Care or equivalent qualification or relevant experience.
• Evidence of the Care Certificate or commitment to achieve on joining Trust.
• Motivated to develop knowledge and skills and to undertake self-development

Desirable

• Understanding of the Code of Conduct for Health Care Support Workers and Adult Social Care Workers in England

Previous Experience
Essential

• Significant experience of the NHS and/or health/child care and an interest in the speciality with knowledge of wider issues relating to health care
• Clear understanding of professional accountability, delegation and professionalism related to the role of a Band 3 worker
• Marks a positive contribution as a team player and demonstrates awareness of importance of working as part of a team
• Able to deliver a high standard of care for patients and always striving to improve on what you do through change and innovation
• Able to communicate effectively with patients/relatives and carers and all members of the multi-disciplinary team
• Is sensitive to the impact and implications of decisions and activities undertaken on other professionals

• IT skills in order to access required systems such as electronic patient records
