This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician with specialist expertise in advanced therapies to contribute at a national level. The role will support the development of a comprehensive and ambitious programme designed to raise awareness and build capability across the NHS Wales workforce. This work is aligned with Theme 2 of the Delivery Plan for Advanced Therapies in Wales.
Developing our workforce is a key component of the delivery plan, ensuring that healthcare professionals are informed about, and equipped to respond to, the rapid advancements in advanced therapies. The programme aims to provide staff with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to successfully integrate these innovative treatments into everyday clinical practice.
While the postholder will formally report to the National Programmes Team, the role will require a matrix working approach. The clinical lead will work in close collaboration with colleagues in Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW) to review and strengthen the education and training offer across Wales, ensuring it is fit for both current and future needs.
In addition, the postholder will engage with counterparts across the UK nations to share learning and align with best practices. They will also play a key role in quality assuring educational materials and identifying gaps where new resources are required, ensuring the workforce is well-prepared and supported in delivering advanced therapies.
