The Oxfordshire Stroke Rehabilitation Unit is a 20-bed inpatient unit based on the Abingdon Community Hospital site with access to a therapy gym, kitchen and garden. We provide short term rehabilitation for people post stroke and take a dynamic and innovative approach to evidence-based practice and service development.
As part of the role, you will work alongside a specialist multidisciplinary team and you will co lead in the management of the therapy team on OSRU.
The Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist (OT) is a highly skilled clinician who will provide clinical leadership and supervision for the OT team. The practitioner will aspire to implement national clinical guidelines. Strong clinical reasoning and decision making skills are essential skills. Clinical work is a core component of this post, making this a great opportunity for someone who wants to take the next step into a leadership role, whilst retaining clinical duties.
Deliver highly specialist rehabilitative care in line with HCPC, RCOT, National Stroke Guidelines, and Oxford Health NHS FT governance standards.
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic, patient-centred rehabilitation, including specialist neurological assessment and complex discharge planning.
Lead service evaluation and improvement through clinical audits (including SSNAP), outcome measurement, and research participation.
Act as a key liaison across ward, community, and acute services to ensure smooth patient flow and effective onward care.
Manage and support the Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy workforce, and deliver training for internal and external audiences.
