42,016 (Clinical lead hours paid at 22 an hour)

Objectives of Job



To provide high-quality nursing care and clinical leadership within the home. To support the Home Manager in overseeing the day-to-day clinical operations and ensuring compliance with CQC standards. To mentor and support nursing and care staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. To ensure care services are consistently delivered to the highest standards, with a focus on safety, dignity, independence, and individualised support for each resident.

Key Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesOrganisation:



Work as a senior member of the team, promoting best practices and ensuring the smooth, effective running of the home. Maintain and promote adherence to Rosmead Healthcare policies and procedures and operate within NMC guidelines at all times. Represent Rosmead Healthcare in a professional manner, building positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and external professionals. Maintain confidentiality and data protection standards relating to residents, staff, and company matters. Participate in internal audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.

Clinical Leadership (Supernumerary Responsibilities - 2 Days/Week):



Provide clinical leadership and oversight, ensuring evidence-based, person-centred care. Conduct audits on care plans, medication records, infection control, wound care, and risk assessments. Mentor, coach, and support nurses and care staff in their practice and development. Lead clinical supervision, reflective practice, and contribute to team training and induction of new staff. Support investigations, complaints management, safeguarding processes, and incident reviews. Monitor and improve quality indicators including falls, pressure ulcers, infections, and medication errors. Maintain effective communication with the Home Manager regarding staffing, clinical risks, and regulatory issues. Liaise with external professionals, families, and GPs to coordinate holistic care for residents.

Functional (Nursing Duties - 2 Days/Week):



Provide direct nursing care in accordance with NMC standards and company policies. Administer medication and treatments safely and effectively, adhering to medication management protocols. Accurately assess the needs of residents and develop, implement, and regularly update individualised care plans. Respond promptly to changes in residents' health, making appropriate referrals to GPs or external services. Maintain up-to-date records and ensure concise handovers between shifts. Provide support in end-of-life and palliative care in line with best practice standards. Maintain high standards of cleanliness, infection prevention, and control across all clinical areas.

Staffing and Team Support:



Act as a mentor and clinical resource for nurses and care staff. Support the Home Manager with rostering, clinical appraisals, competency checks, and managing performance. Facilitate a positive team culture focused on compassion, dignity, and safe care. Promote reflective practice and lead clinical meetings or handovers where required.

Health & Safety:



Promote safe working practices and comply with Health & Safety regulations. Identify and mitigate clinical and operational risks, escalating where necessary. Ensure all equipment is used correctly and maintained in good working condition.

Financial Awareness:



Assist in the effective use of resources within the home, ensuring cost-effective clinical practice (e.g., monitoring usage of dressings, continence aids, PPE). Identify potential cost savings without compromising the quality of care.

General:



Promote a positive, person-centred culture across the home. Attend relevant training, supervisions, and development reviews. Maintain a high standard of documentation and compliance in line with company and CQC standards. Support marketing efforts through professionalism, home presentation, and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications / Experience Required:



Registered Nurse (RGN)

with active NMC registration. Minimum 2 years' experience in elderly care, with a strong clinical background. Experience in a leadership or senior nurse position within a care setting. In-depth understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding, and clinical governance. Confident in carrying out audits, clinical assessments, and supporting team development. Empathetic and person-centred approach to nursing care. Good IT and documentation skills.
