Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Negligence Lawyer (5+ years PQE) to join our dedicated legal team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled lawyer to handle complex and high-value clinical negligence matters, provide specialist legal advice, and represent clients with compassion and expertise.

Key Responsibilities:




Manage a varied caseload of clinical negligence claims, including cases of medical misdiagnosis, surgical errors, birth injuries, and delayed treatment. Provide clear, empathetic, and strategic legal advice to clients, assessing merits, risks, and potential outcomes. Conduct thorough investigations, including reviewing medical records and instructing expert witnesses. Draft and prepare legal documents, pleadings, witness statements, and settlement agreements. Represent clients in court proceedings, mediations, and settlement negotiations. Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring clients are supported and fully informed throughout their case. Stay up to date with relevant case law, legislation, and developments in clinical negligence and healthcare law. Ensure all case handling complies with professional, regulatory, and procedural standards.

Requirements

and Attributes:




+ 5+ years PQE with demonstrable experience in clinical negligence. + Strong technical expertise and litigation skills in claimant clinical negligence work.
+ Excellent drafting, analytical, and negotiation skills.
Ability to manage a busy and complex caseload with minimal supervision. Client-focused approach, with sensitivity when dealing with vulnerable or distressed clients. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a supportive team. Experience in supervising or mentoring junior solicitors and trainees is desirable. Commercial awareness and willingness to contribute to business development.
