We are looking for an enthusiastic and collaborative early career psychologist to join our warm and friendly Clinical Health Psychology department in Bradford working in the Cochlear Implant Service.



The post is to lead a regional specialist service under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist with lots of potential to shape and innovate. This is a highly supportive and active national network of psychologists working in this field of Cochlear Implants. This role provides an opportunity to work directly with patients on difficulties such as preparation for implants and adjustment using evidence-based psychological therapies. As a Clinical Psychologist embedded within the team there will be opportunities to input into psychological informed care with the healthcare team.



There will be regular opportunities to review your needs at work and we actively develop spaces for colleagues to connect and develop. We will consider applications from qualified Clinical Psychologists looking for an 8a role and also trainee Clinical Psychologists looking for Preceptorship positions. We have a budget for CPD and you will have access to regular clinical supervision.



To provide a specialist psychology service to patients under the care of the Cochlear Implant Service. To provide specialist psychological assessment and therapy and to offer advice and consultation on patients' psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, and to work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team's policies and procedures. Work will be undertaken across a range of care sectors. To utilize research skills to inform practice, contribute to audit, and for research.



The area of service for this post will cover clinical health psychology referrals for pre and post Cochlear Implanted adult region wide.



The Adult psychology service is split into two clusters. The post-holders will report directly to the Consultant Lead. There will also be some day to day reporting into key clinicians within the Cochlear Implant service.



The post holder will work with staff at all levels within the organization and with relevant external agencies.



The post-holder will be a member of Clinical Health Psychology Services within the Trust and will be expected to work within the philosophy and ethos of the department which is to work psychologically in a client-centered, flexible and innovative way to improve healthcare. In order to best meet the needs of the Clinical Heath Psychology services there will be some flexibility around the work undertaken



The successful applicant will also be part of the Clinical Health Psychology Department at St Luke's Hospital in Bradford as part of a multi-professional psychological therapies service for Adult Health, Neuropsychology and Paediatrics.
