Job Description

Macclesfield Hospital is a busy District general hospital situated in Cheshire, close to the Peak District and within easy reach of the centre of Manchester.



The Cardio-Respiratory department is based on the Macclesfield site but also covers the new community diagnostic service on the Congleton site and offers a wide range of non-invasive investigations.



We are looking for a full time Clinical Support Worker to join our dynamic Cardio-Respiratory Team. This role will involve clinical duties such as performing ECG's and spirometry, assisting patients, and supporting departmental clinics. There will also be some general admin and clerical duties.



You will need to enjoy variety, be flexible and willing to learn new skills. You will be working within a multi-disciplinary team and must have a positive and proactive approach to work.



You will have the oppurtunity to complete a level 4 apprenticeship in Healthcare Science with the support of the cardio-respiratory team.



This is a full time post working 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday 9am-5pm across both the Macclesfield and Congleton sites



To support clinical physiologists in all areas of the Cardio-Respiratory department. This will include performing high quality, accurate diagnostic tests on the wards and in the Outpatient department as required, after appropriate training. This will include undertaking ECG's, fitting cardiac and blood pressure monitors, preparing and cleaning equipment for use by senior staff. Undertaking Spirometry and working towards Association of Respiratory Technicians and physiologists (ARTP) accreditation. Stock control and administration and clerical duties as required.
