Job Description



This job description is a guide to the work the job holder will be required to undertake. It may be reviewed from time to time to meet the changing needs of the Club.

The main purpose of the role is to work with the General Manager to generate income for the Club from membership income secondary spend, visiting golfers and external bookings in the clubhouse.

As a member of our wider golf club team, you will contribute to the delivery of our strategy and approach working alongside our current staff. You will develop a good understanding of, and a relationship with our members to help to retain members. You will develop and deliver an excellent communication function to support the Club's strategic aims with clear branding and messaging on social media, Club web-site and in print. You will co-ordinate a wide range of channels to facilitate two-way communications with our members, visitors and guests.

You will also be responsible for selling and supporting the management of a range of golf events at the Club. You will proactively seek new opportunities for visitor bookings and will utilise the Club's visitor party database to secure repeat business

You will offer exceptional customer service to all club members, prospective members, sponsors, visitors and their guests.

Specific Duties - Marketing/Communications



Act as a Brand Ambassador for the KGC brand within the Club and externally.

Implement KGC communications strategy using the Clubs brand, tone and style guidelines.

Plan and execute delivery of communication projects and products including reports and other material working with the various sections within the Club.

Produce and design clear and timely communications across a range of media including Club newsletters, Press releases, blogs, social media, publications and other communication channels and consultation responses.

Maintain and develop the Club website to ensure it accurately conveys information about the Club and remains up to date and relevant to meet all our Club member's needs.

Maintain and develop the Club's resource bank of print and digital publications to ensure existing content is refreshed, updated or archived and that new content and materials are developed to meet Member's needs in line with KGC key message/tone and brand guidelines.

Specific Duties - Member and Visitor Relations



Increase membership numbers working with Chair of Membership

Increase Visiting Party bookings by proactively seeking new opportunities and repeat bookings.

Identify existing and seek new Membership benefits to be clearly communicated for the benefit of all members to support retention

Identify sponsorship opportunities within the Club, on course, in the clubhouse, in social media, web and in printed publications, and actively seek sponsorship income.

Identify opportunities and promote Clubhouse usage through wedding parties, business meetings etc.

Develop Membership Relations and Communications

Organise and promote Open competitions, Society and Golf Days at KGC.

Assist with meet & greet service for Visitor Party bookings.

General Duties



Be committed to KGC, its values and operational approach: understand and promote priorities, activities and the vision of the club.

Contribute to the wider development of the Club and work collaboratively with colleagues and external partners, supporting others in their work.

Person Specification



Values & Personal Attributes



Able to handle a busy workload with a positive, can-do attitude and work as part of a team. Have an entrepreneurial approach, able to identify and take opportunities presented. Creative, with a passion to connect people through clear and robust communications. Good Customer Care skills, and of course computer literacy.

Experience



Proven knowledge of designing, and producing clear communications in a range of media including newsletters, social media, web sites, blogs advertisements, video, PR etc. Experience of maintaining and managing a web site.

Experience of a similar role in developing membership communications in the leisure/ sports sector would be useful.

Skills & Knowledge



Ideally a knowledge of golf, or of any other sport or members club. Able to identify appropriate communication tools and to convey messages to a wide and varied audience. Good communication skills at all levels. Ability to articulate clearly and concisely and tell the story of the brand of KGC effectively and persuasively. Good level of numeracy.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.00 per hour
