Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented HOTEL CLUSTER Financial Controller to oversee our financial operations in 2 hotels. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of financial management principles. Previous hotel accounting experience is essential

Duties

Prepare and present accurate financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts. Oversee the accounts payable process to ensure timely payments and accurate record-keeping. Manage the budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to create realistic financial plans. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws. Utilise accounting software Sage, for efficient financial management. Conduct regular audits of financial processes and systems to identify areas for improvement. Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis to support business decisions. Supervise and mentor finance team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Hotel Financial Controller. Strong proficiency in hotel and accounting software including Opera, Sage, and Fourth. In-depth knowledge of accounts payable processes and financial reporting standards. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex financial information clearly. Ability to travel to the hotels in Nottingham & Southampton 1-2 times per month. A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred; professional qualifications (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) are advantageous but not essential.
