Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist with turning experience to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical background and experience in precision machining, particularly within metalworking environments. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in technical drawing interpretation and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes.

Duties

Operate and programme CNC machines using CAD/CAM software and other relevant tools Set up machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to specifications Perform turning and other machining operations with precision to meet tight tolerances Conduct routine inspections of machined parts using hand tools and measurement devices such as calipers and micrometers Maintain and adjust tooling to ensure optimal machine performance and product quality Assist in the assembly of machined components as required Follow safety protocols diligently during all operations, including the use of power tools and hand tools Maintain a clean and organised work environment, adhering to health and safety standards

Experience

Proven experience working as a CNC Machinist or in a similar precision machining role Proficiency in operating lathes, milling machines and other CNC equipment Familiarity with CAD software and general knowledge of CAD/CAM programming Mechanical knowledge encompassing tooling, assembly and the use of hand tools and power tools Basic maths skills for interpreting technical drawings and measurements Knowledge of tooling selection, setup procedures, and machine calibration techniques Previous experience working with mechanical components made from plastics or metals is essential.

Pay: 18.00-20.00 per hour
