We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our one of our clients manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, programming, and optimising CNC machines to produce high-quality components. This role requires a strong understanding of fabrication processes, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with CAD/CAM software. The successful applicant will play a vital part in ensuring efficient production workflows and maintaining precision standards across projects.
Duties
Develop and write CNC programmes using CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks and other relevant tools
Set up CNC machines, including milling equipment, ensuring correct tooling and materials handling
Operate CNC machinery to produce parts according to specifications, adhering to safety and quality standards
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC equipment and programmable logic controllers (PLCs)
Interpret technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication of components
Select appropriate tooling and fixtures for different materials and production requirements
Conduct basic mathematical calculations for measurements, tolerances, and machine settings
Assist with assembly, and other mechanical tasks as needed within the workshop environment
Maintain detailed documentation of programmes, modifications, and production runs
Experience
Proven experience in fabrication, milling, or machining environments with hands-on knowledge of CNC programming
5 + Years experience in CNC Machining (Turning / Lathe Environment)
Familiarity with CAD software such as SolidWorks and experience in creating or editing toolpaths
Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their integration with manufacturing processes
Mechanical knowledge related to materials handling, tooling selection, and equipment maintenance
Experience with hand tools and general assembly procedures within a warehouse or manufacturing setting
Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and programme adjustments
Previous warehouse experience or involvement in materials management is advantageous but not essential
Vocational Training , Apprenticeship , or formal qualification in CNC machining (preferred)
