We are looking for a Project Officer to support the National Trust objectives within the

Coastal Monitoring and Adaptation Planning (CMAP) Project.

CMAP is a EUR9.6M EU PEACEPLUS-funded, cross-border project, led by Ulster University with multiple partners including National Trust that will help create sustainable adaptation to the threats posed by climate change and provide decision-makers and stakeholders at the coast with information on the nature of coastal change.



You'll be playing a critical role, enabling us to deliver our coastal vision and working with coastal communities to help them develop theirs and feed into coastal management for the future.

This project is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB).

Internally you'll be known as 'Project Officer'.

As a member of the Northern Ireland Consultancy, you'll be working alongside colleagues who are committed to achieving the National Trust's ambitions across the region. You'll be part of the organisation's Project and Programme Management community, led by our central team with an ambition to establish a culture of excellence in project delivery across the National Trust.

What you'll be doing:As the CMAP Project Officer, you will work with the CMAP Manager on the National Trust deliverables, with specific responsibility for the mapping and monitoring of blue carbon (mainly saltmarsh) habitats and developing restoration actions and future management plans, working with local communities, the public and other stakeholders.



You will support the co-ordination of partners accessing our sites to collect coastal data, as well as public citizen science activities.



Working with the Project Manager and the National Trust's Coastal Adviser, you will support overall project delivery and expenditure, risk and compliance as well as project reporting in line with internal processes and SEUPB funder requirements.



Critical to this role will be your communication, collaboration and engagement skills, to build relationships with the coastal communities, stakeholders, National Trust teams and partners across the Island of Ireland.

As you will be working with the public it is helpful if you can be flexible with your time as they may wish to meet in the evening or on weekends.

Who we're looking forWe'd love to hear from you if you have:



Knowledge and understanding of coastal management issues and/or blue carbon habitats such as saltmarsh/ and or monitoring habitats. Experience working with partners and/or the public (e.g. in relation to citizen science). Enjoy working with others and an ability to develop plans (e.g. habitat management). Experience of monitoring and evaluating habitat /nature-based solutions. Project management skills, able to make decisions and deliver projects to budgets and on time. Experience of risk management
